Build the brief in two layers
For the design layer, include the intended application, visual character, colorway direction, pattern scale, substrate, edge or seam condition, and whether the material will be used on seating, a direct-applied wall, a wrapped panel, or a window/privacy element.
For the evidence layer, name the product or Xorel construction when available. Add usable width, repeat, backing, finish, cleaning chemistry, abrasion method, flame requirement, environmental document, quantity, and review deadline. Do not substitute a collection-level statement for a product-specific specification.
If a formal schedule names a method, attach its full acceptance language. A bare abrasion number, flame class, acoustic value, or cleaning term can lose the specimen and installation conditions that make it interpretable.
